tDCS reduces memory loss in older adults

Anodal tDCS of the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex strengthens existing memories, reduces memory decline and lessens forgetfulness in the elderly. Enhanced functional coupling between the prefrontal cortex and the hippocampus is thought to strengthen verbal episodic memory through reconsolidation, resulting in improved recollection.
