tDCS reduces relapse in alcohol dependence

5 consecutive days of bilateral tDCS of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex reduced the relapse rate from 90% to 50% at the 6 month follow-up for severe alcoholics participating in an out-patient treatment program. In addition, tDCS improved overall perception of quality of life for these patients.
